It didn’t start with some grand business plan.
It started with an interest in watches that slowly turned into a passion — learning about them, buying them, wearing them, photographing them, and, eventually, selling them.
Somewhere along the way, The Japanese Wife and I realized how much we genuinely enjoy doing this together. We enjoy the hunt for an interesting watch, the stories behind the pieces, the photography, and especially the people we meet along the way. We’ve already made connections with some pretty cool people around the world who probably never would have crossed our path otherwise.
That’s really what we want this blog to be about — and it won’t always be about watches.
I’ll write about life as an airline pilot, aviation and the places the job takes me. We’ll share stories from our travels, our adventures sourcing watches in Japan, cars, good whiskey, and even some of our experiences buying, renovating, and selling real estate. Watches may have brought this whole thing together, but they’re only one of the things we enjoy.
Sometimes you’ll hear from me, The Captain. Sometimes from The Japanese Wife. And occasionally, we’ll hand the controls over to some of the collectors, enthusiasts, and other interesting people we’ve met and invite them to share their own stories.
No real rules here. Just watches, planes, cars, whiskey, travel, business, people, stories — and whatever interesting places this adventure takes us.
Welcome aboard.
— The Captain
