Few watches demonstrate the strength of a design quite like the Rolex Submariner No-Date. This particular example dates to 2019, yet if we didn't know its age, we could easily believe it had just been picked up from a Rolex authorized dealer.
That was one of our first impressions after spending time with it. Despite belonging to the previous generation of Submariner, the 114060 simply doesn't feel dated.
On the wrist, it feels remarkably similar in size and presence to the newer Submariner Date. As with every Rolex we've handled, it wears exceptionally well. It feels balanced — not particularly heavy, but substantial enough that you are always aware you're wearing something of quality.
Where the No-Date really distinguishes itself is the dial. Removing the date and Cyclops creates beautiful symmetry, while the uninterrupted sapphire crystal gives the entire watch a cleaner appearance.
There is a purity to the No-Date Submariner that we really appreciate.
Interestingly, living with it also reminded us why we like the Date. We enjoy the clean, uninterrupted crystal of the No-Date, but still find ourselves looking at the wrist expecting to see the date. Of course, even when we're wearing the Date version, habit sometimes has us reaching for the phone anyway.
After spending time with both, we don't think one is better or worse than the other. The Date adds a useful everyday function that we genuinely appreciate. The No-Date gives something back in return: symmetry, simplicity, and an uninterrupted design.
The 114060 may be from the previous generation, but nothing about it feels old. And perhaps that says more about the Submariner than any specification ever could.
The Date offers functionality. The No-Date offers purity.

Excellent, like-new condition. This Datejust presents beautifully throughout, with only minimal signs of careful wear. The case, bezel, crystal, dial, and bracelet are exceptionally clean, and the watch has been carefully inspected for both condition and operation. An outstanding example that has clearly been very well cared for.
